The Crimea’s biggest, or at least craziest supporter, Matt “Crazy Matt” Stockman has his own record lable (god forbid). And the launch party for Sharabang Music is this Saturday 22nd May, at The Windmill in Brixton, and features our very own Davey putting in an acoustic performance, first publicised one of the year no less. Doors are 2pm, entry is £7, more details in the links below, and hit More for the press release. Oh and, unless you like being covered in beer, then stay away from the short black curly haired dancing man. That, or don’t complain - you were warned ;). Seriously though, do say hi to Matt if you see him, and give him your best wishes for the lable, I know I would if I was there…

Sharabang Music is a Nottingham/London based Record Label with a difference. Rather than go down the traditional route of selling records, we’re going to give them away. All of them. Why? Because we all know record sales are in decline. We also know there are some brilliant bands out there who deserve an outlet. To get things started we’re taking some of our acts, some very hot associated acts and a few cheeky special guests and taking the show on the road!
At Sharabang we believe in community, among artists and also among fans. That’s why we have two converted double decker buses! One for all the bands to travel on together, with an open top and PA for impromptu gigs on route. The other for friends/fans to come and get involved! Anyone who fancies traveling along with us can do so in style! The most important thing is…EVERYONE’s invited!
The Sharabang Music and Friends Launch Tour kicks off on Saturday 22nd May with an all day fun filled bonanza at The Brixton Windmill. From there we take our show on the road stopping off at Brighton Concord 2 on Friday 28th May, Saturday 29th May will be a Promo tour around London. Let us know where you want The Sharabang to pull up for guerilla gigs around the city and we’ll try our best to sort this. We’ll hopefully all end up at some loony house/warehouse party! Saturday 29th, Liverpool Masque on Sunday 30th and Coventry Taylor John’s House on Bank Holiday Monday 31st.
Most gigs will open around lunchtime, and you’ll (hopefully) be greeted with a free pint and your lunch (trying to sort this with the venues as I type!) We’ll have DJs, short films and music videos by the bands you’re about to watch. Throughout the day there’ll also be BBQ’s, Sharabang Twister and Sharabang Give-aways, Burlesque dancers and of course, live music. We’ve got tricks up our sleeve! Each day is an all day event (except for Brighton), and all in all will see around 12 bands take to the stage throughout. Some of them are acts signed to Sharabang, some are acts we hope to sign very soon and others are very, VERY special guests.
So…do yourself a favour, make sure you’re there!
