New WRG review.

The website for Welsh magazine Honk has been updated. The article on The Crimea’s publishing deal has gone and been replaced by a review of the White Russian Galaxy single. Click [More] or visit the Honk website for it.
The single has been added to BBC Radio 6′s playlist B. Click [More] or here for the current playlist and listen to the station online here.
The Hot Puppies. Two days ago I mentioned The Hot Puppies. Well tonight they’re in session on Adam Walton’s Radio Wales show between 9pm and 12pm. You can listen online, on Welsh radio or through various Digital TV and radio channels.
Another different band, The Keys have had their upcoming single Strength Of Strigs reviewed by Crimea fan Stuart Denyer, along with comments on their previous single Gurl Next Door. You can read the review on his website here.

THE CRIMEA White Russian Galaxy

The follow-up to the magnificent Lottery Winners On Acid should eradicate any doubt and finally help shed the ghost of The Crocketts, making the masses understand that The Crimea are a stunning proposition in their own right. Comparisons to the former outfit are not needed here ? The Crimea rock and are vital.White Russian Galaxy is a delicious slice of demure yet shimmering pop-with-fangs the like of which Davey McManus has an uncanny knack of producing on a regular basis, with the material always retaining an honesty and sensitivity.
Lasinoco is laced with a sense of despair and haunts like a ghost story, while Girl Just Died is business as usual ? upbeat and melodic with its trademark McManus juxtaposition of the light with the dark ?If you want to see my happy side / better tell me my girl just died?. The truly frightening thing remains that the band?s best material is yet to be released. This is another gem and a worthy reminder of a currently underrated outfit that sooner or later will demand your attention.
