Manchester Academy Videos

Chris Sheffield has kindly sent me three silent videos he took of The Crimea supporting The Get Up Kids at Manchester Academy on Thursday. Each vid is only a few seconds long, but they’re around 4 megs each so I can’t put them all up at once. The first one’s up for download already and it shows Davey partaking in one of the activities he became famous for during live shows. Visit the downloads page for the video or here for the pics Chris took.

How the hell did an eight-second video clip come to 2.5Mb? Ah, it’s an uncompressed Quicktime movie, isn’t it?

It does at least look pretty cool… shame he didn’t pick an MPEG-4 codec such as DivX, though. It’s available for Macs as well, if that was the problem.

Of course, if they were taken with a digital camera in that format, there wouldn’t be much say in the matter…

^^^ Might be of some use.

It was from a camera. Can it still be compressed a bit though?
