THE CRIMEA

KCRW Session

The Crimea’s eight song session for Morning Becomes Eclectic is now available to stream via the KCRW website. Just click the ‘listen’ link and as long as you have RealPlayer installed it should start playing. The session lasts 36 minutes and includes songs from the recent LWOA EP, the Tragedy Rocks album, a new one at the end, and a small interview in the middle where neither the host nor the band seem to know what they’re talking about (imma call it the Davey effect). Check the bio page or the diary for some slightly more factual band facts. I’m gonna try and stick a couple MP3s from the session up on the site, though if not you can always buy a copy of the new EP. Apparently it’s pretty good. I just got a copy myself off eBay so expect some kind of lyrics page for it soon. And hi to all the new American visitors on the site, there’s now more of you here than English people.

Are we talking major rewrites and re-recording, then?

Well I’d tell you but you know that thing about my address? Absolutely nothing has turned up, or at least not where it should. No CDs, no birthday cards, no ebay cheques, no TV license, nothing. I recon someone’s chucking all my post into the sea for a laugh. Hopefully something’ll come today but I ain’t betting on it.

And… re-writes/recordings? From the Crimea? Ha ha ha ha… I mean, you’d think after 3 years when most the tracks on there are still by… well, there’s other sites for that kinda stuff. Wait for the new Tragedy Rocks release, then we’ll get some proper Crimea recordings.

guess what I just found? they could’a bloody said it was only a list of parcels, and big ones at that. apparently they can’t be bothered to say when normal post gets here, so you just gotta guess. and still no TV licesnse or ebay cheques. but i got some CDs :o )

not much info on the cd/case but there is a bit of new artwork :o ) any of your CDs from the states come with little hole sawed into the side, or am I the only lucky one?

Recording quality – unless I’ve been listening to too many crappy internet streams, the ones on the LWOA EP seem much better quality than all the others, though still the same recordings. I guess Warners means they don’t have to burn their own anymore :o )

If a case has a notch, it usually means not-for-sale, whether it’s a preview copy or remaindered stock.

So, I take it Penbryn doesn’t do to-flat deliveries for letters ‘n’ stuff?

emailed them and they said the same thing :o ) prefer the uk promo stickers though instead of sawing through the damn thing :o P

    >>So, I take it Penbryn doesn’t do to-flat deliveries for letters ‘n’ stuff?

nope, they do "can’t be bothered to tell you if you got any but give us some id and we might check for you" deliveries. that’s if the stuff gets here in the first place.

wait wait… i said that in the previous message….. meh… guess who saw the puppies last night? and guess who just made his worst MD recording ever last night? hah. got a good one of the support though, you want it? they are very very good and stuff.

woah… just noticed a bit of a cut and paste job in opposite ends actually. well, more cut than paste… it’s the same as the album one but they both have the last chorus repeat / "isobelle, ISOBELLE…" cut from the original klutzville version. makes it just over a minute shorter. and you can guess which one i prefer ;o)
