The Depaulia have a small review of The Crimea playing the CMJ Music Marathon in New York a couple weeks ago. You can read the original version here (at the bottom of the page) or by clicking on More.
CMJ!
College Music Journal magazine hosts its annual music marathon and Radio DePaul was there to cover the highlights
The Crimea
The college radio world is oversaturated in recycled mopey sounding ballads that generally tend to take the soul out of the listener instead of brightening it up. Enter The Crimea. Melodic and gentle, loud and emotional, the band covers all ends of the spectrum and injects new juice into the tired British invasion. Guitarist Andy Norton even took some downtime to hang out with the Radio DePaul team as a lover of music, not an ego-driven rock star. With only a five-song EP, “Lottery Winners on Acid,”? the band perked the interest of Warner Bros. records and was signed a few months ago. The band plans on recording for the next few weeks and then heading out on to the road in late November.
