well, at least it’s making the comments look fill :o)

off to update the blacklist now, i’ve just spent the last 20 HOURS trying to install a simple PVR type program. which I just accomplished in windows in about 20 seconds. now, if i’d had that kind of experience moving from windows to linux i’d be all "wow, it’s so much easier with linux!". as it is, i’m starting to wonder why people bother…

You’d probably want to include a check for "word", "WORD" and "Word" variants of the answer, mind.

Nah, I mean it might be possible to create the CAPTCHA image using a PHP script, then pass the session variable to the Perl script.

Or there’s a very basic question-oriented CAPTCHA hack here:

perl/cgi my boy. :o(. but i did stick something in before the host thereatend to block the greymatter files if i didn’t upgrade. so i did, and i dunno if it still works or not, but it uses a blacklist of sites anyway and i’ve not updated that for a while either…

Time to start thinking about hacking a CAPTCHA into the comment form for GreyMatter? If there isn’t an existing plugin available…

I can probably help whip something up if it doesn’t matter that it’s done in PHP. Perl/CGI is rather outside my area of experience.
