Dearest friends, allies and others,

Hope the festive fun hasn’t taken too much of a toll on you. We’re only five days into the new year and we’ve already got plenty to tell. In fact, there’s so much information to unleash, we couldn’t possibly reveal the sordid action that unfolded once we put down our instruments at the Christmas party. Thanks to everyone who turned up and a special thank you to those who came back to our house and didn’t steal our wireless router.

In case we hadn’t told you/you just didn’t know, Lottery Winners On Acid is being released this Monday, January 9th (hence the flurry of activity). Available in all good record shops, and some not so good ones, we urge you to buy friends (all of them), belated Christmas gifts. Just so they know you care. If, however, you can’t be dealing with the snobby shop assistant who’ll laugh at you if you don’t ask for a compilation of Scrotum Clamp’s b-sides, you can pre-order the single here.

So let’s kick off with some special guest appearances:

Davey will be casting his critical eye over next week’s single releases on the ‘Round Table’ programme on 6 Music, this Friday (January 6th). It’ll undoubtedly be funny and Davey will – we imagine – severely struggle to give anything more than 2/10. The programme kicks off at around 6pm and you can listen in on a digital radio or on-line via the BBC’s website.

Owen, the Supertzar DJ, will be making a guest appearance on the wheels of steel at this Friday’s (6 January) Kill All Hippies club night. The hirsute sticksman, who looks nothing like a hippy, will – we predict – play Saxon’s ‘Wheels Of Steel’ and promptly get booted out of the club. If you want to laugh along while giving it the usual jumper-in-a-washing-machine-type indie dancing, the night is being held at the 333 Club, Old Street, London, EC1. For more information go here.

As well as Monday’s in-store at Sister Ray’s record shop, Berwick Street, London (6pm – details on the website), we’ve also lined up a nose-bleeding tour of the UK which starts in February. The itinerary is the long list you can see at the end of this mail. Scream for us, Inverness!

And that, is that. For now. The crystal ball is out and we’re predicting another mail in a few days. Don’t worry though, that’ll be funny, too.

Lots of love
