Buy, Buy, Buy!

Well aparently the boys are doing OK in this weeks chart, but they’re not top 40 yet so get out there and buy up every damn copy of the single you can find and hopefully The Crimea might get some chart recognition on Sunday.
Not that the review in this week’s Rocksound magazine (Issue 81, Feb 06) is gonna help much. Their reviewer Hardeep Phull only gave it 5 out of 10 but then, it is a rock mag, and LWOA is hardly the band’s hardest tune. They’ll love the album.
I can see it’s gonna be one of those days, Tasty Fanzine aren’t too impressed either. And yes, they probably will turn up on telly gone midnight, not that anyone’ll know anything about it…
Keeping the count of poor reviews to three Captain Birds Eye fish fingers, give it what could otherwise be seen as a pretty rare good review. 4.5 out of 5, but don’t expect to understand what 被寄予众望,这是他们走红的单曲之一。 means.
Band members dissapointed after the previous reviews should check out their own Crimea Lottery competition where another set of lucky numbers have been drawn, this time for a ?200 HMV voucher. Owen, you won anything yet?
Almost forgot, someone on the message board mentioned an LWOA review on ITV teletext page 147. Check it out if you like, but it’s identical to the one on Channel 4′s teletext posted on Monday.
And finally the album Tragedy Rocks is one of the five recommended “New Discoveries” albums at Borders.

The Crimea ? Lottery Winners on Acid (Warner Brothers)

The Crimea take time out from rocking out, to turn in a sort of Beatlesesque ode to the poor tax. It?s alright, I suppose. It reminds of kicking out time at the pub, bizarrely, and that?s not my most favourite time in the world, I can tell you. I imagine it?s the sort of ?indie? that Jools Holland is fond of. Expect to see The Crimea on telly at gone midnight any time soon.

I’d like to know which copy of the single these reviewers are getting, or if they’re only getting one-track promos… mind you, they could be being put off by the cover artwork…

Virgin have stock, which was good, ’cause they didn’t bother to put aside my order. Sounds tops, must get around to review at some point.

I was in Derby HMV today and the place was flooded with Crimea singles, which I guess is both good and bad. And by flooded I mean about 8 copies of each CD and no vinyl (grrr) which is more than they have of most singles in there.

Liking the video though! I love it when they put them on in mpg format.

"about 8 copies of each CD and no vinyl"

oook, missing the point of the post title entirely, there…. BUY THEM YOU FOOL! noooowww :o P

  4. Dave says:

Don’t they stop people who try to fix the charts by buying singles in bulk? I’ll get the vinyl if they’ve got it in Durham’s HMV tomorrow, but the CDs again? Nobody is that obsessive right? ;)

  5. Christopher says:

hehe, yeah i was telling someone else something like that yesterday. can’t remember where i read it but i’m sure if you buy more than one at a time it only counts once towards the chart. guy i was telling asked around and said it didn’t, so i dunno, but it would make sense. so i bought mine one at a time. but still, i now have 10. BUY!

  6. Dave says:

You krazyyy! But your krazy is evidently contagious. If I get round to HMV tomorrow and they’ve got stock I’ll get some more and flog ‘em to somebody. Surely buying three formats at once counts as three though since that’s legit?

I would go for publishing a series of white papers. This tactic works wonderfully.-acyclovir
