Hit ‘More’ for gig dates as the band head towards the close of a successful five years of extended touring. Don’t worry, though, they aren’t disappearing. Radio shows are to come, and you can check out previews of two single tracks now over at Myspace. Nifty horns and guitar work! You can also vote for the band in an MTV2 chart (hint hint)…

Shows, Competitions and White Russian news (absolutely nothing to do with Elton John’s ‘Nikita’, btw)

Fockers,

We’re just about finished grinding out our latest UK tour into its fifth year. For the first time in our goldfish-like memories, the list of dates at the bottom of the e-mail doesn’t stretch out like a list of Jones’s in the Welsh phone book. It does mean, however, that you only have a few more chances to see us with Pink Floyd’s lighting rig, the current live set-list and our road weary, haggard features. It has without a doubt been our best, most successful tour so far, so thank you to everyone who turned out and made it such a hoot and a holler.

‘Danke’ also to Clearlake, The Hot Puppies, Manic and everyone else who propped up the bill like Atlas holding our world of sonic ecstasy on their shoulders.

We’re not entirely disappearing from view though. There are a few more shows, the first of which is a ‘Tiscali Showcase’ at the uber tiny Bar Academy in London on March 24. Sadly, Bar Academy has nothing to do with the excellent series of Police Academy movies starring Steve Guttenberg, Bubba Smith, Michael Winslow et al. Full details of the show can be found HERE. If you don’t want to buy tickets (let’s face it, who would…) you can win a pair by either telling us what’s in a White Russian cocktail or telling us what your favourite Police Academy film is (in less than 20 words). Send your answer, name, age and address (we might have to send you the tix) to our podcast e-mail address, which is: slagusoff@radiocrimea.com

Our Manchester show has been re-scheduled. It’ll still be at the Academy 3, but it now takes place on April 8th. There are a few tickets left, but be quick! We’ve also been confirmed for Birmingham’s Soundstation festival on May 28th. Tickets are ?25 and Graham Coxon, The Guillemots and Boy Kill Boy will be joining us with an acoustic guitar to bellow Wonderwall tunelessly at three in the morning.

As we’re sure you’ll become tired of hearing, White Russian Galaxy’s release – April 3rd – is fast approaching. It’s a brand new mix of WRG (it’s even better than the original… we know, hard to believe, isn’t it?) and it can be previewed, along with the brand new b-sides on our MySpace page. Check it out, it’ll, like, blow your c*ck off. Honestly.

We’ll also be telling all and sundry about our next single on the following radio shows. Like, turn on, tune in, rock out, dude.

23 March – The Edge with Steve Harris on Virgin Radio 30 March – Music Response, XFM
3 April – Gideon Coe, 6 Music
3 April – The Janice Long Show, Radio 2

And one last thing before we wind up our own electronic War And Peace (congrats for getting this far). If you’re aimlessly nobbing about on your computer, you could put your mouse clicks to good use by voting for us on the MTV2 NME chart HERE.

C’est tout. We’ll see you all soon and thanks again for a great tour.

Lots of love
