Thinking about it, if they're giving the thing away free, why not give *everything* away for free - how's about some unmixed tracks from the songs so we can remix some stuff ourselves? You just don't know how much I wanna add the oliver twisted chorus on to the end of only the end of the world, and boost the keyboards up at the end of weird...

If so, make sure they write up WHY they're doing it and submit to places such as Digg and Slashdot --

http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/10/02/2056210

If picked up it'll be a huge bandwidth hit in the short term (they'll need to work out a plan for that) but BitTorrent will help lots to get the message out, and as long as the CD is *ALSO* available when they do it, possibly with some extra content such as demo recordings, it'll sell.

Can't stress order of this enough: get CD ready to buy, explain why they're doing it on a website that can handle traffic / set up torrents and maybe direct downloads, get the word out to geek-friendly sites (might want to mention the precedents) and cross fingers.

(Also have PP button on site with torrent tracker -- some people just aren't really fussed about physical media.)
