Subject: The Crimea – Proud that a grand album do come for free.

Salutations fellow travellers.

We’re ending our residency at the Proud Gallery next Tuesday. Words fail us to describe the elation, the joy, the laughs, the… ludicrous stairs we’ve had to hump our equipment up and down. Thanks to everyone who’s shown up, to Marie-Alicia and Love Is All, and to the two plastic horses in the bar that haven’t complained about the volume once. We have one more Proud extravaganza to go and we promise you it will be the best yet with support coming from the illustrious Iain Archer and a surprise guest DJ.

Tickets at:
You at: The Proud Gallery, Camden on 24th April.

We’re roughly two weeks closer to the release of our album than when we last met (on your mail package, having glided through cyber space after tumbling down some stairs in the Animals’ House Of The Rising Sun’).
To reiterate:

1. We are releasing the album FOR FREE, FOR ALL TIME on our website – – on May 13th.
2. You can also get the physical format (round disc, artwork, credits, a thanks list that pisses more people off than pleases) by pre-ordering copies from the ‘shop’ link on our website, or in shops.

Maybe it’s because we’ve lived with the idea for so long, but people don’t quite ‘get’ the free idea. Chill out. There’s no catch. It’s the proper album, laboured over, loved and – occasionally – hated (but always because we’d been up for 48 hours and there wasn’t any artichokes in Tesco’s bargain section). It’s the real deal, folks. For nothing. No catch. End of story. To celebrate, we’ve a few special activities to celebrate. More details will follow, but here’s the rough sketch:

‘Burn the Witch’ BBQ’s
12 May – Barbeque, impromptu acoustic set on Primrose Hill, Regents Park
13 May – Same deal, but under the wings of the Angel Of North.

Myspace, yourspace, its everyone’s bloody space and anyway we’ve just uploaded a couple more tracks for your scrutiny after much clamoring for more than one song up there…enjoy! ( , dur)

There’s also a tour afoot, which is where people outside London come in (and thank you for your patience, both with regards to our live activities and reading this rambling mail). Dates and details below.

So that’s it, we think.

Come and be merry. A grand album do come for free. Mice pointers at the ready…

Lots of love
