Subject: The Crimea: Urgent Rescheduled Shows, Neither Modest nor Mice…

Dearest fellow shufflers on this mortal coil,

We’ll get the bad news out of the way first, and be aware that it’s news we regret to announce and that we’re really, really sorry. Our shows at Queens Hall, Narberth (Saturday May 26) and at The Boiler Room, Surrey, (Tuesday, May 29) have been postponed. We’re currently looking into alternative dates at the moment, but we fully intend to play both shows as part of our current UK tour at some point in the very, very near future. Check the venue for details, but we’d bet tickets will be valid for the new dates etc.

Basically, there’s been a bit of scheduling cock-up (our booking agent is currently being flogged in some stocks at Narberth Council’s buildings – he’ll be in Surrey tomorrow). We’ve been asked to support Modest Mouse on their current UK tour and got confirmation at very short notice. *** USELESS FACT ALERT ***: Tragedy Rocks was recorded by the same producer and Mississippi studio as the Mices’ last two records. Our next week on the road, then, currently looks like this:

Friday 25th May: Stoke Sugarmill (Headline)
Saturday 26th May: Glasgow (with Modest Mouse)
Sunday 27th May: Wolverhampton (with Modest Mouse)
Monday 28th May: Nottingham (with Modest Mouse)
Tuesday 29th May: Manchester (with Modest Mouse)
Wednesday 30th May: Reading Fez Club (Headline Show)

From thereon in, unexpected news/natural disasters/acts of God notwithstanding (can you tell we’ve just re-insured our equipment?), our UK tour will carry on as advertised (see dates below). And on the subject of our UK tour, it’s already kicked off… in a BIG way. We delivered an iceberg to the side of the Bristol Thekla Social last night (the venue was a boat, btw). It was so good, we’re actually terrified at the level we’ll be at once we finish the tour. York, Glasgow and Edinburgh, consider yourselves warned. A spare head and some fresh pants are recommended.

Album download wise, thanks to everyone who’s got it so far, we’ve recently uploaded a slightly modified version, with a nice long intro back on ‘All Conquering’ and a few other ones too, enjoy!

So that’s it from us, for now. There’s more stuff on the horizon… we’ll drop the news as and when…
Sorry and thanks to everyone for their patience.

lots of love,

The Crimea
