The Party’s Over, Somebody’s Dead In The Bath

Lottery Winners On Acid is The Crimea’s debut single release. It’s fairground meets funeral, Cohen meets Dusty and was recorded at the band’s house in Plaistow, East London’s Hamburger Hill.

Singer/guitarist Davey Macmanus and drummer Owen Hopkin have spent two years meticulously bedroom recording their songs. Jose Blas? (bass player and 19 year old Zimbabwean refugee) and Andy Stafford (clean cut keyboardist from Chamonix) were recruited in Summer 2002. The Crimea were complete.

After sold out shows at London’s Barfly club, the Crimea are now set to take their songs on the road. You can see them here:

  • November: Cardiff Barfly (23rd), Reading Hexagon (24th), Glasgow Barfly (28th), Birmingham Academy (29th), Liverpool Barfly (30th),
  • December: Aberystwyth Arts Centre (1st), London Barfly (11th)
