My plans suck. That’s why I never make any, then you can’t mess them up. So you can guess what the plan for this site is. Shag all. Of course, that doesn’t help when you’re trying to get things done on here. But I did just scan a load of new Crocketts magazine articles. Expect them, err… whenever. And check this out. For all frogs on pointy wooded instruments, it’s a french Crocketts bio. What you always wanted, I’m sure.
Guess who e-mailed me recently? Mrs D. aka Sarrah Harries, V2 press officer :o) The long-time crox fan got in touch to say she had a load of Crocketts press materia/photos and if I wanted scans. Well it’s easier than buying them off eBay. So expect much more press-type goodness ariving sometime. That should probably be someyear. But it’ll get here. Just don’t give up on this place like I do sometimes.
Think Cow Punk. Now take away the punk. Whatcha got? A cow? well, yes, but… erm… folk singing cows.
I found out recently that Davey’s brother is a traditional Irish musician and this morning what do I find in my inbox but an MP3 by one Rod MacManus and a little note saying I could put it up for download. So here it is - Cealtra An Tra by Davey’s brother Rod. Have a listen and see what you think. Add comments on the message board or wherever.
Right army, this one’s straight from the top. Davey’s been in touch to suggest you all check out an author called JT Leroy, cos he quite likes him. If his books are anything like Davey’s then be prepared for some weird shit.
About that whole “working on the site” thing… XHTML sucks. and DIVs suck. But as soon as I figure them both out I can get a proper news page up, but you might’ve noticed that there’s a few other new pages up already like the shop and downloads ones.
Yes I am working on the site. Should turn up sometime soon, though I do remember saying that about a year ago… Blame XHTML. And I’ve got a load of new old Crocketts mag articles to put up, but Uni scanners are the shit so lawd knows when they’ll appear. For now I’ve resigned to listening to the On Something single. That and posting on the message board, as old forum regular Lucifer has returned and already produced the longest thread there. So where the hell are the rest of you?
Umm… was there a point to me starting a new paragraph? Unlikely…
Mclusky Split! A sad day for some of us, more over at Mclusky.net.
In happier news, if you read the crimea site, you’ll be pleased to know I got everything backed up. Infact, the whole hard drive seems to be working fine again now. It only cost me £100 to find that out :o\
Having been nominated for the Pop Factory Award’s Best New Act award (which The Crimea won last year), Halflight are playing a gig at the Pop Factory in Wales on December 3rd to launch the event. They’re currently giving away tickets to the gig on their website www.halflight.info but first you’ll have to answer a very Crocketts related question about Owen Hopkin. And for any Halflight fans visiting this site, here’s a few more pics of their gig at The Bay in Aberystwyth a short while ago.
Peel tribute night on Radio 1, Thursday 16th December, more details @ drownedinsound.com.
Look look, massive Mac. Hehehe… She’s just recorded vocals for The Crimea’s ‘Lottery Winners On Acid’, ‘Opposite Ends’ and ‘Someone’s Crying’, or so says a man who just e-mailed me from a studio in the US. You’d never believe me if I actually told you who ;o)
Hahaha… Junior Eurovision… Hahahahahahahaha….
Gone but not forgotten. RIP Davey’s Non-Tooth.
CDs you should listen to if you haven’t already…
El Toppo by the Llama Farmers, a lovely autumny album, listen and watch the leaves fall down.
The It Girl by Sleeper, unless it’s just me who’s stuck thinking “what do I do now?”…
That’s all, it’s not like I have a wide ranging taste in music or anything. Why not try the NME for that? hahahaha mmmm :o\
