Beautiful Photos

Beautifuldays FestivalPhotos of The Crimea playing at the Beautifuldays festival in Devon on August 16th are available on the web at www.thedigitaljedi.co.uk. There’s five pictures of the band labled “the crimea… .jpg” and three others labled “pantman… .jpg” showing the band with a strange new member. No, the bloke in the pants is not Joe. Visit the Beautifuldays website here. Thanks to Martin Hough for finding the photos on the net and letting me know about them.

In The Press

Online music mag Noise Culture has a review of The Crimea’s support gig with the Kings Of Leon at London’s Electric Ballroom on 10/07/03 up on their website. Click here to see the whole article or on [More] to just read the Crimea bit.

New gigs.

Davey MacManusDavey will be playing a solo acoustic gig at the Toucan Club in Cardiff next Thursday and then The Crimea return as a full band at Telford’s Warehouse in Chester on Friday 12th September. Check the gigs page for details of all upcoming gigs.
You may have read in this months issue of Sound Nation that the band are playing the Leeds and Reading festivals, well they’re not. Sorry. But if you can find a copy there’s a little review of the Compass Point festival gig in there. And pictures of the gig have now been put up on the pictures page.

Listen to Mr Walton.

Evening, just a quick one for everyone at a loose end tonight. Please tune into Adam Walton’s Radio Wales show cos he’s a big fan of the band and he just played possible new single Fred Flintstone. Woohoo.

New gigs and single.

There’s three Crimea related gigs lined up for the rest of the month. The first is at London’s Astoria supporting Dashboard Confessional. The second at England’s answer to the Burning Man festival, only with less sand and naked people and much more music, provided by the likes of The Levellers, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and others. The Beautiful Days Festival takes place in Devon in exactly two weeks time. The third gig is a solo Kernal Krok acoustic at the Toucan Club in Cardiff, where Davey will be showing the world what he can do without four extra nutters behind him. As always, check the gigs page for more details.
And next week the band will be hard at work creating their next masterpiece. The single is currently due to be released around early October.
