“I recorded two songs live, they are a snapshot of a moment in time, both songs are subject to great change. and are in no way complete, lyrically or musically, however they represent an interesting moment in one persons history, without further ado, here is a transcript of the lyrics to said live recording available on our myspace site for the next week” - Davey MacManus.

PS. any advice other than a simple wav recording, hit comment. And Denyer, thanks in advance.

About as confirmed as it’s gonna get. Full details on the gigs page but here’s the lowdown: Sponsored by Jack Daniels, the Cardiff Barfly afternoon acoustic on Sunday 21st August at 12:30pm will be headlined by The Crimea and also feature Innercity Pirates (aka. My Red Cell) and the wonderful Halflight. If you didn’t know already (where’ve you been?), Halflight’s Subside EP features Owen from the Crimea playing drums on the first track. Check out their website at halflight.info or their MySpace profile for some streaming tracks. More details on the gig can be found on the Cardiff Barfly website. Oh and, in my attempt to imitate the ever more pointless illustrations of DiS; that’s an intercity pirate on the left, that is. See what I did there? Arrrr.
I’ll start off with the earliest; new photos from the Shed gig in Leicester in 2004 from Amy Wiseman.
Next up, Elodie’s pics of the band supporting the Stereophonics at Shepherds Bush Empire, then some more of them at the Monarch in March.
Pete Geniella has some on his site from the Seattle show.
And here’s some from the Mercury Lounge by Tear-n Tan, who also have loads more of The Crimea on their own website.
The band are also constantly updating their own photo gallery on the official website www.thecrimea.net.
Away from photos, Filter Mag have a small article on the band’s upcoming shows, including one in Cardiff on August 21st. Check the gigs page for confirmation of that.
And away from The Crimea totally, here’s a beautiful short movie made using my new favourite game, Battlefield 2. Almost as good as The Crimea’s ones. Gotta love them magic revive-all defib pads :o)

Can you say rare? It’s the first time i’ve seen this on sale for a long time. If you want a copy of The Crockett’s split 7″ single with Murry The Hump, only eBay has the answer.
