Another Session

XFM OnlineThe Crimea will be performing a live session on XFM’s X-Posure part 1 show on Tuesday January 10th between 9pm and 11pm. Tune in via DAB digital radio, or online at www.xfm.co.uk.
Thanks to Gem on the message board who mentioned an interview with Davey on Radio 1’s Colin & Edith show earlier today. You can listen again to the whole show by clicking this, I’ll have the interview up for download asap.
I’ve no doubt they’ll be appearing on other stations around the country (I only happened across the Radio 1 and XFM sessions by accident), so just keep your ears peeled and the finger on the record button just incase they turn up on a station near you. I’ll do my best to record any I know about and stick the best bits online for you.
Oh, there’s also a half page article on them in The Sun today, page 56. Cheers Dave. Scans coming… sometime this year… hopefully.

Invading You Ear Space

The Crimea are coming to a town near you (not me) next month as they tour the UK. Details of all shows can be found on their MySpace site (currently also their official homepage as the other one’s gone back in time).
They’ll also be invading the airwaves over the next few days as they take to Radio 1’s Session in Northern Ireland this evening from 7.30pm for a live session airing, Radio 6’s Round Table show where Davey’ll no doubt be telling all of his lothing for modern music tomorrow from 6.00pm, the same time as Owen’ll be hanging around 333 Club in London pretending he’s some kinda DJ.
Speaking of airwaves, Lottery Winners On Acid is currently doing the rounds on all major UK radio stations, most of whom have playlisted it, some of whom just love it, and then there’s Colin & Edith who want you to decide by voting for it as their CD Burner track of the week think. Brilliant or bollocks? You decide. Currently it stands at 81% shear genious.
It’s all so much fun one could almost forget, Lottery Winners On Acid (the single… the second one…) is out in approximately 3.5 days. That’s Monday for the mathematically challenged. Which also brings me to this…

CALLING ALL HTML KNOWLEDGEABLE CRIMEA FANS!!! If the recent album release is anything to go by, I’m about to get bombarded by 1000 Crimea reviews in the space of a few days, so if anyone feels like becoming a temporary news poster adding info and copies of said reviews to this site then please get in touch with myself (christopher@inaudible.co.uk). Denyer, I’m about to email you.

Update: Ok, so the Northern Ireland session is now available online, hit here to listen. And, holy moly, I just took a look at the hit counter and it’s hovering bloody close to the 300 unique hits in a single day mark, just need 7 more people to visit in the next hour. Either way, it’s smashed the previous record by double :oO

Napster Live Session

As rumoured earlier, The Crimea have indeed recorded a live session for Napster, and all tracks including an interview are now available fom download via the Napster Live section of their download client. New users can download the client from Napster.com, then all you gotta do is search for “the crimea”. Live tracks are 79p (payable by credit/debit card or PayPal) and the interview’s free.
The live acoustic versions of Lottery Winners On Acid, Gazillions Of Miniature Violins, White Russian Galaxy and I Think We’re Alone Now are up for grabs, and they even have a copy of one of the new LWOA single b-sides if you look around. Just remember they’re in a DRM crippled format so you’re limited in what you can actually do with the music files. Basically, they’re like a pizza you can’t eat.

Another Radio 1 Crimea Session

The Crimea will be in session for Radio 1 in Northern Ireland this Thursday. They’ll be on in Donna Legge’s slot between 7pm and 9pm, though it’ll be presented by Rory McConnell. You can listen online at the R1 website or on the radio in Northern Island.
